Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.
Often we are comfortable in our daily routines and we bore ourselves. So how about a jog? Or buy someone lunch. Smile back when someone smiles at you (this one is absolutely something I need to start doing). Or maybe something simple like actually saying Thank You. After the day is done think of ways to incorporate kindness in your day. After all you’ve let go of anger and accepted positivity as a friend. Get out of your comfort zone because you need to get out of your old skin!
Switch up your routine! It could be something as little as taking a different route to work/school. Or go towards getting over a fear. This one may be a huge pill to swallow, but being in tune with yourself also means being in tune with your fears. Overcoming them and accepting them. There may be some things you may never want to accomplish (for example, I may not be able to jump out of a plane), but other times, realistically speaking there are stuff that can be done with baby steps. It is definitely an uncomfortable and anxious feeling but at the end you will gain personal satisfaction and create amazing new life memories.
Start a conversation with a stranger! I am not anti-social, but I speak when spoken to. I am not a conversation starter but once in a conversation I can continue it on and on. This week I started College again (yes after 7 years), the first class already had us break into groups. What did I do? Well at first I wanted to just stay quiet until the teacher felt the need to just add me to a group. But instead I spoke out, I took control and included 2 other females in my group. Two females with actually great personalities! To be honest my heart did race and I was low key afraid one would say “no” or “I’m already in another group”. Truth be told when someone says that, its rejection and most of us don’t take it well. Just another thing to alter within yourself. But you see how something so small was overcomed and allowed me to get out of my comfort zone.
One major way to get out of our comfort zone is to create a list of goals. What do you want to accomplish? What do you wanna see change? What do you want to do that can bring excitement to life and yet it out of the norm for you? Be realistic, and accomplish them!
